Finally! A style & colour system that actually honours your uniqueness….

So, what exactly is Poeticize Your Presence and how’s it different from all the other systems out there?

Well, it was inspired in part by my own style journey. By my lingering feeling that the style, body geometry and colour analysis systems that already existed mainly made me feel hemmed in and a bit diminished, rather than making me elevated and seen .

Seeing women who have “romantic” features, like full lips and curves, having overly sexualised style recommendations suggested to them in some systems, based solely on their physical traits was increasingly irritating me.

And, as a taller woman, I found the David Kibbe system particularly limiting (at my height of 5ft 9, you only have 3 out of the ten Image ID types in his system available to you).

Also, as a woman of colour, whose home colour season is Summer (a colour season type that was historically associated only with fair, English Rose type colouring) I was growing tired of being treated as if I was some sort of strange outlier or unicorn. (People of colour tend to get automatically pigeonholed into one of just 2 colour seasons — Winter and Autumn.)

Rather than just complain, I channeled that energy into creating a new, updated, inclusive system, that’s actually super fun to use.

Et voila, Poeticize Your Presence was born (it actually does feel like it’s my baby, lol). It’s a brand-new colour and style system AND a movement. And it actually honours a human’s uniqueness — mind, body and soul.

No more overly limiting height restrictions. No more trying to force yourself to fit into categories that weren’t necessarily even built with you in mind in the first place.

No more spending months, or even years, trying to figure out why the recommendations for your possible Kibbe type just don’t work.

The focus of this post is the Silhouette ID layer of my system. We’ll get to the Custom Colours and also dive into Style Energies in upcoming posts. In Poeticize Your Presence, you don’t necessarily have just one Silhouette ID type. Instead, many people are a blend of two, or sometimes even three Silhouette types.

So, You’ll have a primary Silhouette ID, and you’ll likely have a secondary — and occasionally even a tertiary — ID as well.

The Silhouette ID approach is about discovering — and dressing to honour — your unique body and face architecture. Your frame, facial features, facial shape, flesh distribution, bone structure, and more are assessed to arrive at a silhouette identity that is completely unique to you.

RECENT CLIENT FEEDBACK: “I’d followed Fatima on social media for years and always known she has a really good eye.  When she opened up appointments for consultations I jumped at the chance.  It’s been hands down one of the best investments I’ve made in my style journey.  She has a good eye but is also very kind and intuitive.  I’ve followed the work of David Zyla, David Kibbe and John Kitchener as well and I admire their work a lot, but it’s nice to be able to go to a consultant who’s a woman and in my age group. Her system is a breath of fresh air.” — Diyana, Leicester, UK

To show how the Silhouette ID approach works in practice — in the Kibbe system, I am a pure Dramatic. As a taller woman, I only had 3 potential types available to me in Kibbe.

While my structure does align with the Kibbe Dramatic ID and I look good in many of the recommendations, it never fully captured me.

Here’s why:

In Poeticize Your Presence, I’m a blend of 3 Silhouette IDs:

50% Sleek — long vertical, streamlined frame

30% Celestial — a type I created for those who combine long bones and height with a willowy softness. They’re not sharply angular or lushly curved, but somewhere in-between.

20% Timeless — symmetrical body geometry that thrives in clean, precise, gently minimal lines.

Knowing my percentages has been so freeing. I’m no longer trying to shoehorn myself into a box that doesn’t quite reflect who I am. It’s nice to be understood in your whole structure, not just squeezed into one category

How about you?

Have you ever struggled to find space for yourself in the Kibbe system — or any other system?

Would love to hear about your experiences and help you find wout here you fit (because you definitely do fit in here) in the Poeticize Your Presence system.
